Ugh. Rachel knew this was a racing town, but did all the clothes all have to be so.. Small town-ish? Detroit wasn't a large, glamorous city like New York, but it did have its fair share of nice shops to dig through. Here, Rachel couldn't even find a morsel. Well, not quite. Forever 21 had always been a favorite, but lately, she'd found her thirst for its clothes quenched.

Still, she found herself flipping through the racks, searching for a nice pair of shorts to go with the shirt she'd just picked up. Rachel wasn't extremely fashion conscious, let's say, but she did have an itch for nice clothes. Every girl did. Rachel was no different. To tell the truth, she was still that college girl, fresh out of school and eager to taste the world for what it really was. A certain amount of preppiness and immaturity was needed to go along with that. It was just a side effect.

Which brought her to Isaac Sommers. He wasn't bad, she'd give him that much. Still, it seemed he was the opposite of her. He seemed so mature and in control, while she, as much as she tried to do that, fell apart laughing on the floor at times. The lapses were getting more and more frequent as the memory of her father faded more and more from her thoughts. When that particular realization came into her mind, Rachel quickly pushed it away, focusing instead on Isaac. She wouldn't mind seeing him again, that was for sure.

It was a hot summer day, she had finally gotten a job, and now all she needed was a nice apartment to move into from the cottage. She wanted a social life, not just the stable and her job. A roommate would be nice too. No one could keep a whole apartment to themselves. Yes, life was great. Still, Rachel couldn't keep the little black spot that was her father out of her mind. He would show up one day to ruin all that she had built. She just knew it.

Picking up a nice pair of navy blue shorts, Rachel turned from the rack to go try it on. As she took a step forward, she suddenly bumped into something. Something bigger than her. And it moved. Stumbling, Rachel fell over sideways and onto the floor.
